UN chief urges nations to consider deploying forces to help Haiti – video
A top UN official has called on nations around the world to consider deploying medical teams to help Haiti recover from the devastation from the massive earthquake which struck the Caribbean nation last month.
In a video posted on YouTube, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says “we have to consider sending medical teams to help Haiti,” and urges people to donate.
Ban said in the video that the UN “is preparing” to send a medical team to help Haiti.
Haiti has been hit hard by the earthquake, which killed almost 300 people, and has been struggling with flooding and a strong aftershock earlier in the week.
